Members of the Muslim community, many of whom are Iraqi refugees, pray at the Karbalaa Islamic Education Center in Dearborn. Michigan is home to the largest Middle Eastern community in the United States, including many Iraqis who came to the US in the 1980s and 90s as a result of the Iran-Iraq War and the aftermath of the 1991 Gulf War. Many of the Iraqi refugees being resettled in the U.S. today are drawn to the Detroit area due to family, cultural and religious ties. Dearborn, MI, USA. 19/04/2013.
