Deminers from Mines Advisory Group (MAG) prepare the controlled demolition of a BM-1 Katyusha rocket and many other unexploded ordinace (UXO) that they cleared from an area around a former military barracks and weapons store used by northern government forces during Sudan's civil war. The building is next to an open area near the John Garang memorial where Independence ceremonies will be held on July 9th, 2011. The area is heavily contaminated with unexploded ordinance (UXO).
