Climate Change in West Africa

A tourism complex built by an Italian group crumbled onto the beach due to rising sea levels and erosion. Just a year earlier, although threatened, the buildings were still intact on the bluff. Climate change has caused the sea to encroach on the coastline of West Africa at an alarming rate in recent years with severe affects on infrastructure, economic activities, agriculture and coastal communities.
