A deminer from Mines Advisory Group (MAG) surveys the rooftop of a former military barracks and weapons store used by northern government forces during Sudan's civil war. The building is next to an open area near the John Garang memorial where Independence ceremonies will be held on July 9th, 2011. The area is heavily contaminated with unexploded ordinance (UXO).
