Climate Change in West Africa

Villagers from Kabiline working in the rice fields of the valley near their community. Rice farming is a centuries old tradition for the people of Casamance and northern Guinea Bissau. Rice is not only the staple of the local diet, but it is also an integral part of the local culture and way of life. Rice cultivation is essential to food security and the economy in Casamance.
