Christian Prud'homme, veteran of the 1991 Gulf War, and his medical assitant Céline Ezahr following a meeting at the Defense Ministry where they submitted a petition against uranium based weapons and requested recognition by the authorites of military and civilian victims of strange illnesses following the Gulf War. Prud'homme has been suffering from memory loss, severe muscular pain, inabillity to sleep, loss of vision, etc., since his return from the Gulf . He believes his condition is due to exposure to depleted uranium. He does not receive a military pension or health insurance despite years of requests. He has been on a hunger strike for 48 days seeking recognition by the government for all military and civilian personnel who suffer from strange pathologies collectively known as "Gulf or Balkan War Syndromes."
