Albert Yousif, president of the A2Z cleaning company, eating lunch with his employees in the company offices. Mr. Yousif is an Iraqi refugee who came to the U.S. in 1992 following the first Gulf War. He arrived with $25 in his pocket. He says that he wanted to see what the "land of opportunity" meant. He worked hard at two jobs, including at one as a cleaner at the A2Z janitorial company. Hard work paid off for Albert Yousif because one year later the company’s American owner made him a partner in the business. A year after that the owner went through a divorce and sold the company to Mr. Yousif. Since then, he has built the company up, expanded the business and now employs 35 people, including several refugees recently arrived from Iraq. Troy, MI, USA. 22/04/2013.
