DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF CONGO
A man is examined by medical staff working with Médecins Sans Frontières at a mobile clinic in the south eastern province of Katanga. The region has been severely affected by fighting between government forces and Mai Mai militias. Over 1200 people die everyday in the DR Congo largely due to preventable diseases such as malaria, malnutrition and tuberculosis, directly caused by the country's long conflict.
