Projects: The Annonymous Wounded of Iraq
Since the 2003 invasion of Iraq, violence, lawlessness and sectarian strife are rife in the country. Insecurity prevents journalists from working in the country and the media no longer covers issues related to Iraq. As a consequence, information emanating from the country has been reduced to repetitive statistics of the dead and wounded following each significant attack, numbers that have become meaningless and abstract. This project attempts to put a human face on the thousands of Iraqi men, women and children whose lives have been destroyed in complete anonymity by the rampant violence and insecurity that have become part of daily life in Iraq.
