A young man dead on arrival with a bullet in his chest at the al-Kadisia Hospital emergency room in Sadr City, formerly known as Saddam City. The area is a vast slum of 3 million Shiite Muslims, long oppressed and marginalized by Saddam's regime. The neighborhood is a hotbed for the insecurity and violence that has thrived with the absence of authority in the country.
